Description:  If you're looking for the sweetest German Shepherd, Adonis is your man! Taking after his namesake, Adonis is an absolutely stunning 1 year old, 66 pound German Shepherd. Adonis is potty trained and crate trained and, for the most part, walks well on a leash and is improving every day. He is so amazing with kids! He absolutely adores them; Adonis sometimes is not aware of his size so little ones that are wobbly on their feet might get knocked down. Adonis would do well with other dogs after proper introductions are made but is content to be the one and only as well. He has not been around cats but as long as you are willing to guide and teach him, he will do fine! Adonis is also still learning table manners, so he is learning to lay quietly in his crate while his foster family enjoys their dinner… he doesn’t even make a peep. However, for his dinner he has great table manners and sits and waits patiently. With his moderate activity level, he will need a yard with a six foot fence. Description: Call me Azriel (or Az for short)! I am 45 pounds and about one-year old, but my life really started in December, when nice people found me hiding under a house and took me in. I was very scared at first, but quickly learned that home is a safe place and that there’s so much to love in life. I adore playing with my foster brother! I also love all the toys, mealtime(!!!), water bowls, chewing on ice in the winter, and snuggling with both humans and dogs. I love these things so much that even that thing they call “the cone” didn’t keep me from getting to my toys. I also love just laying close to my foster mom in the office. I am potty trained and making amazing progress with my crate training. I am quickly learning what is appropriate indoor behavior, but I still need to be crated if no humans are around. At night I sleep in the crate and can usually stay there until 7AM. If my foster mom wants to sleep in, she lets me in the bedroom with a toy. I would love to spend the night in bed, but I have learned that sleeping in the crate is not that bad (you can often hear the clink of my toys a few times at night). I would really like to live in a house with another playful dog, as I have lots of energy and prefer having a companion, but I can also live in a single-dog house as long as you have enough time to play with me. I have a strong prey drive, so right now I will not do well in a house with cats. I really love children but would do best in a house with older kids, as I am still learning not to jump or chase (are they not puppies?). As a young pup eager to discover life, I have a good amount of energy and I am not sure it will really go away. I am a happy boy at home as long as I get regular walks, runs, playtime with dogs or fetch sessions several times a day. And don’t worry, I will be sure to bring a ball to you if you need a reminder! An at least 5-foot fenced-in backyard would make life easier. I still get overwhelmed by crowds and dogs I don’t know, so I require very slow calm introductions. BUT – I’ve recently begun training and my confidence has been wonderfully improving. Since training is also mealtime, it’s one of my favorite things to do! I heard my foster mom say she wants to teach me tricks next! Until then, I am looking for my forever home. My ideal adopter will be patient, continue my training and build up my confidence, so I can grow into the best big-boy I can be. Description:  Meet Bobby - or what I like to call him: Buddy. He is the best Buddy you could ever ask for. Who knew an 80 pound, furry weighted blanket would be so comforting. This guy had a really hard start to his young life. No one knows how he ended up being an emaciated stray but we are all so happy he is thriving and healthy now! Buddy loves extremely hard and is a big goof. He currently doesn’t have a yard to free roam in but would love one - as long as it is fenced. He started going to day care and making other furry friends. He has a high prey drive for squirrels so we don’t think he would be good with little animals. He loves everyone he meets but he doesn’t understand how large he actually is so may be too big for little kids. We visit his BFF Colby every night to get a treat and a few pets which he handsomely sits for. He needs some training as he will grab food off your plate or counter but hey, he came to us at 44 pounds and is still a puppy at 2 years old. He does wonderful walking on his leash and he and his foster mom walk about 6 miles a day. He has never met a patio he doesn’t like! His foster mom calls him a “Patio Prince” lol Everyone in the neighborhood knows him. He lays down and patiently waits for any crumbs to fall. Since his foster mom has had him he has never had to be in a crate, he free roams all day and has never had a potty accident. As long as he has a couch or bed to lay on he is a good boy. They’re a perfect match for my even bigger heart. I’m a sweet, 45 pound, 5 month old, affectionate pup who loves people and enjoys making new dog friends. I also do well with smaller animals, including cats, though sometimes I get a little too playful for their liking. My foster home includes two German Shepherds and three cats, so I’m learning the ropes of coexisting with all kinds of furry companions. I have low to moderate energy. I want to be close to my humans—I’ll happily curl up at your feet, rest my head in your lap, or sleep in my own bed in your room at night. I’m crate-trained and actually love my crate; it’s my little safe space. I don’t need to be in it anymore, but I’d love to have one in my new home if possible! I'm housebroken and also sleep through the night with no accidents. I’m a curious pup, but I can be timid and cautious in new situations. I’m highly food-motivated, which makes me eager to learn—my foster mom has already started me on basic obedience training. Description:  Hi y’all! I’m Diamond, or maybe a Diamond in the rough since I am a fun loving, happy go lucky, female German Shepherd puppy. I was picked up by the shelter as a stray, was rescued by the kind folks at Freedom and am now ready for my forever home.  As a puppy, I am very energetic and require a lot of physical and mental exercise. I do well with cats but will occasionally bark at them. I also love to eat their kitty food.  I really enjoy car rides because it means I am going on a new adventure! Description:  Woof woof! Hi there! I'm Mavis. I'm a fluffy bundle of energy, and I'm about a year old and 51 pounds! That's like, a whole seven years in human years, I think. I'm not really sure, I can't count that high yet. I'm a shepherd mix, which means I'm super smart and love to run and play. My favorite thing in the whole world is zooming and playing with my foster family.  I'm so fast!  I am still considered medium energy because, although I like to run and play sometimes, I can also still chill with my humans and settle nicely.  I am apartment appropriate as long as someone will play with me to get my energy out. I don't need to have a fenced in yard either, but my leash manners need some work; I will pull because I am so thrilled about meeting new people and other dogs. I love meeting new doggy friends! Everyone is my friend! Big dogs, little dogs, fluffy dogs, wrinkly dogs – I love them all! We sniff each other's butts and then chase each other around until we're all panting. It's the best! While it would be great to have another dog in the home to play with, I can pretty independent so having a doggie friend is not required. I also really love to snuggle up on the couch when I've got all of my zoomies out. I'm still learning about personal space, but I just can't help but show everyone my love! Some humans have these tiny humans they call "kids". They're pretty cool! They throw balls for me and give the best ear scratches. Sometimes they hug me really tight, and I try to lick their faces to show them I love them too. But sometimes, my humans tell me I'm being "too close" and need to "give them space". I don't really get what that means, but I'm trying to learn. I'm still learning all sorts of things. I haven't met any cats yet but my foster dad thinks I would probably be okay with them as long as they correct me when I show interest in them. My foster humans say I'm a good girl, even when I make mistakes. I love them so much, and I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for me! While I am housebroken, I get so excited meeting new people that I may accidentally tinkle a little. I'm also crate trained, so there's that. Description: Hey there, I’m Pops. I am an approximately 6-year-old, 89 pound, German Shepherd mix who was found wandering the streets. My foster mom doesn’t know much about my background, but I probably didn’t have a very good life since it takes me a little time to warm up to new people. I will continue to get better as long as someone has the patience to continue working with me. I like to take things slow, but once I trust you, you won’t be able to go anywhere (even the shower) without me. However, since I get a little scared when too many people are jumping or running around me, I would do best in a home without kids and would love a home that is quiet without a lot of visitors so I can feel safe. I have worked really hard to be in public around strangers but I prefer to be a homebody with the people I love the most. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a couch potato. I love to go on long walks, and hikes and I even learned that I like the beach and ocean. It’s fun when my foster mom throws the ball in the waves and I get to run in and fetch it. I would prefer to keep all my future family's love to myself but do well with calm, older, not-in-your-face dogs. I am definitely not a fan of cats or squirrels. Have a ball? I'm always ready to fetch it for you and bring it back especially if it has a squeaker in it. Because I love to play fetch and am shy when meeting new people, my ideal furever home would have a six-foot fence. My foster mom also says I’m really smart and a quick learner - that must be a good thing because I always get a treat or a scratch on the head when I do something spectacular. Another great thing about me is that I have impeccable bathroom habits. I never potty in the house and I’m quick to tell my human when I need to go out. I am crate trained and my foster mom says I'm a dream on a leash. I’m not a barker unless a stranger comes into my house - then I go from 0 to 10 in seconds. I am an awesome house alarm if I do say so myself. I consider myself a foodie and not afraid to beg for a bit of whatever you’re eating, just to make sure it is fit for consumption, but I’m told it isn’t polite, so I’m trying hard to remember my manners and go to my place when it’s not my dinner time. Description:  Hello! My name is Rigatoni, aka Riggs or Riggy. I'm about 4 months old and 22 pounds. I was received by a shelter as a lone stray. I was quickly brought to my foster family and immediately fit right in. I love to run and play with my fur foster siblings and cuddle with my humans when it's nap time! I'm also a big fan of squeaky toys, all the food, treats, and ice cubes. I would love a family who can give me lots of love, patience, and play time. A family with another dog would be great, too, because I just love playing with my spunky foster sister the most!  I have a moderate energy level and don't need a fenced in yard as long as someone regularly exercises me on leash.  I have been around cats and kids and did well with them. I'm still trying to learn that I I'm supposed to potty outside every time - oops. It's going to take a little time and patience, but I'm getting the hang of it and I'm very food motivated. The same goes for the crate. I don't love being in there when I know you are still in the house, unless it's bedtime. I can get really noisy when I'm letting you know I don't want to be in there! At night, though, I settle down pretty quickly and sleep until morning. I'm very much a puppy, but I am a sweet boy who loves everyone! Description: Hello everyone, my name is Sami! I am a German Shepherd who is approximately 5 years young and weigh 69 pounds! My previous family could no longer care for me, so I was surrendered to the shelter. Freedom German Shepherd Rescue scooped me up to help get me well and find my forever home. I love my new foster home, and I have very quickly adjusted to a new routine.  I am housebroken and crate trained. I have so many things that I enjoy doing! Some of my favorite things are training, taking long walks, going to Lowe’s, spending time with and meeting new people, and eating “pup cups”.  My all-time favorite thing to do is going for car rides! I am such a good car rider that my foster mom takes me to run errands with her.  My favorite place to go, other than Starbucks, is the local pharmacy because the nice people who work there give me treats. I know as soon as we pull up where we are, and I immediately start “talking” to the nice lady who works behind the counter. Since I love to take walks and go on car rides, I hope I can find a furever family who will take me places with them. I am so well-behaved you will not have any problems with me.  I already have good manners and am extremely smart.  I am doggie and cat friendly and another one of my favorite things is trying to eat my feline foster sister, Gracie’s, food. My foster mom must keep the cat food off the floor, so I won’t steal snacks. I am also good with children! Like I said before, I love to meet new people and give people all the love I can. I am extremely friendly and have never meet a stranger. I love when the doorbell rings and I can run to the door to greet our new visitors.  I am not an extremely active doggie but I would be up for outdoor adventures. I am not a jumper so a four-foot fence will be just fine for me. I sometimes play with toys and my favorite game to play is tug of war. Description: Hi, my name is Sargeant! I am a handsome 75lb, 3 year old German Shepherd boy. My previous owner unfortunately didn't have time for me because he worked a lot, so he asked Freedom to help me find a new furever home. My two favorite things to do are play keep away with a ball and go on car rides. When I'm not doing those things, I love snuggling until I fall asleep. I really enjoy going on walks, and just running around being silly. I know some basic commands like sit, stay, down and come. I can also shake with both paws and when you tell me to go to my kennel, I will. I am housebroken but I'm not a huge fan of the crate. That's okay, though, because I can be fully trusted to free roam the house without getting into things I'm not supposed to. I get very excited when I first meet people and will jump, play nip and try to knock them over, but once I calm down and get used to them, I stop doing it. A few notes from Sarge's foster mom: Sarge would do best with an active individual who has the time for him and is willing to continue to work on his training/obedience. He also would do great with someone who doesn't mind getting Sarge kisses! Since I've had him he's done well with other dogs. Description: Meet Stella!   Stella is a sweet five year old, 55lb girl who loves to be with her people. She is down for going on adventures, so she would be a great fit for a family who likes to get out and see what the world has to offer. Stella is also perfectly content with entertaining herself while sniffing around/enjoying the back yard. Her foster mom requires Stella go to a home with a fenced in yard for her to play in. She loves to learn new tricks/training, so a confident, shepherd savvy family who would continue to work with her is ideal. She is house trained, crate trained and does fairly well on the leash and still working on leash-walk etiquette. I'm a very sweet, cute little baby boy of around 4 months that weighs 26 pounds. I am very confident, intelligent, and active and I need an active family and a fenced in yard that is at least four feet tall. I'm a brave boy too and will be protective when I get big. This means I need a family who will continue to train me and provide boundaries so that I grow up to be the best boy I can be. I get along great with my fur foster siblings. I like to fling my tiny self at them, WWF- style. I would be fine being an only dog or in a family with another confident and playful dog. I have foster cat siblings and I will chase them sometimes and ignore them at other times, so I would be fine with a dog-savvy cat. I'm still pretty mouthy, so would do best with older kids right now. I am getting pretty good at house training, just need to go out frequently. I know how to sit, to go in my crate for dinner, and walk pretty well on leash. Description:  Hi, my name is Tina and I am a smaller German Shepherd weighing 37 pounds. I’m between 2 and 3 years old, very sweet and an energetic ball of joy. I love to play with my older foster brothers, both German Shepherds. We play tug of war with toys around the house or play with each other when no one is looking. My foster sister Miss Kitty and I love sunbathing, and people watching on the back porch. I do love chasing her, playing, but sometimes she doesn’t let me play too hard. I had a rough start when I first arrived at my foster home. I had to have a broken left elbow surgically repaired and may need to have hip surgery in the future from a previous accident. Even with all these challenges, I have been a very active girl, even with the cone of shame on. I’m good with all dogs, but prefer the larger ones, I’m playful with cats and love all humans, even toddlers.  I love pets and I enjoy getting my pets over my foster siblings because I'm the smallest of the crew. I will bark to make you aware that someone is at the door or walking past the house.  I sound mean, but it’s only a front.  I just can’t wait to have you closer. My foster dad has been working with me on a few things like sitting and laying down and also, timeout. I don’t mind being in the crate, but I may need a little nudge to go in, but will relax once in there.  Sometimes, I just put myself in there for some rest and relaxation. I'm also housebroken. I am very afraid of thunder and can hear it miles away.  I’m scared, but not destructive, and will just find a nice dark corner in the room until it passes. Foster dad tried the thunder jacket on me, but I was still really scared.  I’m also starting to get more leash walks and still learning how to walk nicely. My foster dad thinks a harness will help. It would be best if I had a fenced in yard of my own, but because of my size a four foot tall one would suffice. Description: Tonka is a very handsome 6-month-old German Shepherd mix that is 40 pounds and growing.  Tonka may be as rough and ready as his name suggests but he is all sweetness and love on the inside!  He is dog and cat friendly. He has not been exposed to kids but no doubt he would LOVE them too.  He is up for any adventure be it hiking in the woods, wrestling with his doggie friends or cuddling on the couch. Tonka is crate trained and pretty much house trained, too.  He will ring the bell at the door when he needs to go out.  He has been exposed to dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens and so much more and gets along with everyone. He has been an excellent farm pup. Because he has such good recall, he does not need a fenced in yard. Tyson

Description:  Meet Tyson, our 5 year-old, 80 pound German Shepherd!   According to Wikipedia, Tyson is a male given name of old French origin meaning 'high-spirited', 'fire'.  I am not sure who named him but the name fits him. Tyson is full of energy and has the constant desire to play. As a result, he will need a home with a six foot fence. He will give you the toy only after he circles you a few times and then sits for you to throw it, and will return.... again and again. If you don't want to throw it, he will prance around the yard with it in his mouth. Tyson will play by himself with a hard, large Jolly ball as long as you let him. Soft stuffies and squeekees do not stand a chance. Tyson willingly and politely accepts treats. He will sit for meals and does not mind human touches while eating. He pulls on leash and enjoys car rides. He does well with other dogs and currently lives with a female German Shepherd. He has not met any cats yet. Tyson is not aware of his size so he would do best in a home with older children. Tyson is crate trained and housebroken. Description: I am Uncle Sam, and if I may say so myself, a gorgeous almost five year old, 98 pound, sable boy. I am looking for an adopter that likes to play ball and get slimed with kisses. I do very well with obedience commands and am learning to trust people. I am great with women but need a little time, space and play to be comfortable around men.I need an experienced handler to help me be my best self, as I’m very protective of my person and their property. I very much want a forever home that will continue my training and give me fun jobs to do. I have a face that will melt your heart and it makes me so happy to get attention! I don’t mind being left alone, in fact I do well out of the crate and I’m housebroken. I am not food driven, but will do anything for a ball!   I am socially awkward with other dogs and will need a slow, proper introduction. I’ve also been around chickens, and do not react. My ideal home would be an active one with minimal visitors and no other dogs, preferably with you being an experienced trainer, or someone who will continue to work with a behavioral trainer that is already in place prior to adoption.
