~~My name is Ruger and I’m an 18 month old, 70 pound, male, half Belgian Malinois, half German Shepherd.  Don’t worry – I‘m not a weapon, though.  I’m a lover, not a fighter.  I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner could not handle me.  I don’t understand why because she had me for only six months and I had already been trained.  I know all of the basic commands like sit, stay and heel, go willingly into my crate and am housebroken. I love everybody I meet and run from dogs that try to attack me.  I may not be everyone’s cup of tea because I’m a mixture of two working line breeds.  My foster mom told me not to worry, though.  She said sometimes being a shot of whiskey is being better than being a cup of tea anyways. Although I am energetic, my foster mom doesn’t think that I am working line.   I am very, very strong and will pull when I’m being walked.  I just get so excited to see and do everything!!  My foster mom is continuing to work on my leash manners.  I don’t have any ball drive but I enjoy toys and am extremely food motivated.  Call me what you want, just don’t call me late for dinner LOL I love people of all ages and dogs of all sizes.  I was afraid of the cats that I met at the animal shelter.  Sometimes I think I’m a lap dog and lay in my foster mom’s lap.  I really enjoy spending being around my person and am very friendly when I meet new people.  When I’m feeling extra content, I like to show her how much I like her by chewing on her hands.  She is trying to teach me that no one likes that.  Because of that, I should probably go to a home with older children.  I’d also prefer to go to a home with another playful dog.  If my future adopter doesn’t have a dog for me to play with, he or she needs to be really active to help me get my energy out.  If you think you can offer me my furever home, please complete an adoption application.  I am being fostered in Fayetteville.
