In the best interest of the Dog and the Adopter, Freedom GSR and the Adopter mutually agree to the following:

 

Freedom GSR agrees to transfer the Dog to the Adopter with:

  1. Initial vaccinations including distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvovirus and bordetella.
  2. Rabies vaccination in a dog 4 months of age and older.
  3. Microchip instilled or be provided to be instilled at a later date.
  4. Initial deworming.
  5. The Dog being altered if 6 months of age or older.
  6. A heartworm test on dogs six months and older.
  7. Provisions for any standard vet care during the two week trial period to include: vaccinations through a Freedom GSR approved veterinarian, dewormer and flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

Adopter(s) agree to the following:

  1. The Dog will not be left outside unattended, live primarily outside or in a kennel, and/or in a home where the lease, HOA or homeowner’s insurance forbids the ownership of German Shepherds and/or any animals.
  2. The Dog will be given proper exercise and fresh food and water daily.
  3. The Dog will be kept up to date on all standard vaccinations to include distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus as well as rabies once the dog is of age.
  4. The dog will be kept on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  The Dog’s next round of preventatives are due to be given on (provided by foster) .
  5. To obey all state and local laws regarding animal ownership.
  6. If applicable, to have the Dog altered by the time the Dog is, no later than, seven months of age.  If the Dog is not altered as specified per the contract and reproduces, Adopter agrees to immediately return the Dog and its progeny to Freedom GSR.  The Dog will need to be altered by (provided by foster)
  7. To return the Dog to Freedom GSR if the Adopter can no longer care for the dog properly or no longer wants the Dog for any reason after the initial trial period is over.
  8. Should the Dog need to be returned via Adopter request, Freedom GSR has up to three weeks to place him/her and the Adopter will return him to the foster home designated by Freedom GSR.  During this three week period, the Adopter will continue to provide the Dog with adequate shelter, fresh food and water and proper exercise daily.  The Dog will be returned up to date on vaccinations or the Adopter will donate the amount needed to cover those costs.
  9. To not give away, sell, transfer or abandon the Dog or use him/her for research, gifting or guard dog purposes.  Adopter may only transfer ownership with the written consent of Freedom GSR and the pending owner agrees to the terms and condition of the Freedom GSR adoption contract.
  10. To allow follow up site visits and/or vet checks to ensure the animal is being properly cared for.
  11. To pay for any attorney’s fees that may result should Freedom GSR have to take action against the Adopter should the Adopter violate the terms and conditions of the Freedom GSR adoption contract.

Adoption terms:

  1. The adoption fee is $350 and must be paid the day the Dog is taken on trial.  If the Dog is returned during the trial period, the adoption fee will be fully refunded.  If the Dog is returned to Freedom GSR after the trial period, the adoption fee will not be refunded and will be considered a donation.  The trial period may be extended with written consent from a designated representative of Freedom GSR.
  2. Adopter accepts responsibility for any liability or damage caused by the Dog and will not pursue legal action against Freedom GSR as a result.
  3. The microchip will list Freedom GSR as the primary contact and at the six month mark of the adoption, the Adopter will be added as the secondary contact on the microchip. If the Adopters contact information changes, the Adopter will need to let Freedom GSR know so it can be updated accordingly. 
  4. If the Adopter is found to be in violation of the terms and conditions agreed upon in this contract, Adopter gives permission for Freedom GSR to remove the Dog from his/her premises and the dog will once again become the property of Freedom GSR.
