Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog. Meet Astrid! In Old Norse, Astrid means "divine strength" and "divinely beautiful." This 4-year-old lady embodies these qualities perfectly. Weighing in at 60 pounds, Astrid is a strong, elegant, and loving companion who is ready to find her forever home. Astrid is not just beautiful; she's also playful and affectionate. Her playful side sometimes gets the best of her, and she has a funny habit of sneakily stealing clothes or other household items. She does not damage them, but likes to parade them around as if to show you how proud she is of having them. You'll often find her trotting around with a sock or a piece of clothing she managed to "borrow." Despite her mischievous antics, her favorite pastime is staying by your side or snuggling on the couch, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She's house-trained, crate-trained, and is a true Velcro dog, happiest when she is alongside her owner. Astrid has a moderate energy level, making her a great fit for both active and relaxed households. She is both large and small dog-friendly and would do best with a canine companion. However, she's probably not a fan of cats. She would thrive in a home with a secure 6 foot fence to keep her safe and happy during her outdoor adventures. Astrid is looking for a loving home where she can share her strength, beauty, and mischievous charm. Come meet her and see if she steals your heart (and maybe a sock or two)! If you're interested in making Astrid a member of your family, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org. Astrid is being fostered in Charlotte.
