Meet Lala (although her foster family calls her Layla)! This sweet girl is thought to be around 8 months old and weighs around 45 pounds. She is still very skinny and has some growing to do, so she will likely be 60+ pounds once full grown. Lala is both people and dog friendly. Her favorite things to do include playing with her foster fur siblings and emptying out the toy bin on a daily basis to find a new favorite toy! She has met a few dogs while in the front yard and while on walks and has done great with intros. She will initially bark but is then calm when people and/or dogs approach her. She is still working on her leash skills, as the outside world can be a little scary and overwhelming, but she is getting better every day! Lala has adapted very well to home life and is already crate and potty trained. She has even learned to go to the door when she needs to go potty. She is very food motivated and looks forward to every meal. She gets so excited that we feed her with a slow feeder bowl. She has not shown any signs of aggression with either toys or food, but we do feed her in the crate because she will try to eat the other dog’s food. Lala does have a lot of energy and loves to play but will then settle down to take naps throughout the day.   She even respects the 3 foot high fence that surrounds her foster parents home. She loves being around her people and will melt into your lap if you let her. She is eager to please and is learning that people aren’t so scary after all. Lala would likely do best with another fur companion, as she loves to play and has gained a ton of confidence by being with her fur siblings although she could possibly be fine as the only dog as well. She has not been tested with kids or cats, but she would probably do well with older kids as she may accidentally knock one over out of excitement! Overall, Lala is the sweetest and most affectionate dog who would thrive in a home that is willing to continue to work on her training and confidence to be the best dog she can be!
