Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.

Hey Y’all!  I’m Lone Ranger (aka Ranger). One look at my face tells you how I got my name. I’m an almost two-year-old German Shepherd mix.  My foster mom says I’m a 65 pound, floofy goofball. I’m housebroken and crate trained. Besides my foster mom and dad, I live with two Labrador foster brothers. I love having them to play with in the backyard.  I’ve met a bunch of other dogs in my neighborhood and love making friends. I haven’t met any cats so I don’t know how I feel about them, but I am curious about them when I see them on my walks. I’ve been to doggy friendly stores and restaurants and love meeting new people.  I am definitely a ladies man. I am afraid of some men but I am not aggressive towards them; I just won't engage with them at all. I recently spent 30 days at a board and train program and have a very solid foundation. I’m getting much better at my leash walking, placing and holding a stay.  I know sit, down & paw.  I love to give you my paw.  Tennis ball?  Did someone say tennis ball?  I LOVE playing with tennis balls and will chase them (and squirrels) all day.  I can catch a lot of air so would probably be a great Frisbee boy as well. I’ve met kids and love them but I probably shouldn’t play alone with them because I don’t realize how big I am. I’m a high energy boy so I will do best with an active family with a six foot fenced yard so I can do my zoomies! Other playmates would be an added bonus. Once I’m done playing, I love to cuddle up with you anywhere you are. I love belly rubs and will gladly give you my tummy in return. If you would like to add me to your family, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you don’t have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org

I am being fostered near Wilmington, NC.
