Hi Ya’ll!  I’m Sheila, an approximately 7.5 year old shepherd girl.  I ended up in the shelter through no fault of my own.  My original owner became physically incapacitated and his family couldn’t take care of me, so I went to the shelter until the kind people at Freedom GS Rescue saved me.  I love people and ultimately prefer to be where my people are.  I behave well for the vet, don’t mind getting my nails trimmed and am even okay with a bath.  Speaking of baths, I love water!  Whether it’s being put in my bowl or a pool I can relax and swim in.  When it comes to training I know basic commands.  I’m food motivated, so if you want me to learn something new, then that’s the way to do it.  I’m also housebroken and crate trained.  I could use some work with my leash manners.  My foster mom was using a gentle leader with me and while I don’’t like it for the first few minutes, I do settle down and walk like a champ.  I would prefer a home where I only have a quieter, calmer sibling or one where I’m the only dog.  I haven’t been around cats, so I don’t know how I feel about them.  I haven’t been around children since being in rescue, but I love people, so I would likely do well with them. I am being fostered near Fayetteville, NC.If you would like to add me to your family, please reach out to your adoption coordinator.  If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org
