Meet Atlas! This super sweet boy is seven years old and roughly 68 pounds. We aren’t sure what happened in his past life, but he does have some anxiety to overcome - particularly when it storms or there are loud noises. He will need someone who will be patient and work with him through it. Coaxing him or entertaining him with a ball works quite well at times.  Sometimes he prefers to just hide in the bathroom and stay there until the noises go away. Atlas loves people of all ages, even kids. He also loves other dogs and completely ignores the cat he’s currently living with. Having another confident dog in the home would be ideal for him. He is not food motivated and sporadically eats his dog food. He’s decided that he much prefers people food, so that’s what he’s always wanting. The vet recommended he lose a few pounds, so he will probably be in the lower 60’s at his ideal weight. Playing ball is his favorite thing ever. He will play as often as you want to!  He also really loves car rides and water. He’ll happily take a hosing off while you water your plants. In general, he listens very well and already knows “sit” and “shake.” He is housebroken and doesn’t require a crate- he’s very trustworthy without it. His foster mom said he’s the sweetest boy and he would be a foster fail if she didn’t already have a few dogs of her own! Atlas is being fostered near Raleigh, NC.
