Hi!   My name is Duncan and I am a seven year old, 80lb guy.   I came into Freedom when my previous owner became too ill to care for me and my fur siblings. It was quite overwhelming for me and it took me a while to settle in with my foster family.   Once I did, I realized that I had landed in a place that cared about me. Though I am not really an old dog, I am an old soul at heart. I am currently living on a farm and it has been an interesting experience!  So much space to roam around on!  Even with all that space I still prefer to stay where my people are, especially my foster dad - he is my favorite person! There are a lot of animals here!  I do pretty well with the goats, but they head butt me if I get too close.  My foster mom says I should only be around horses when I am supervised. I am EXCELLENT with cats, though!  Honestly I think they are one of my favorite animals other then the tiny critters that live in special enclosures in the house. Cats are interesting to watch but don't pester me, unlike my young foster siblings!  I get along pretty well with the other dogs, (there are several here), but my favorite is the ten year old female as she is nice and quiet too.  The youngsters just have too much energy and I prefer the peace and quiet.  My foster mom says that I am a gentle, old soul that would definitely thrive in a quieter home - cats and quiet dogs are perfect companions for me.  Probably no young kids; it would just be too much energy for me!  Walks in the neighborhood or little outings out and about and then hanging out on the couch are much more my speed. I love beef broth on my kibble so if my new parents can do that I would be quite happy!  I love cookies, too!  I am very hesitant about taking them so my foster family just places them on the floor in front of me and I gobble them up!  I have been crate trained and will go in to eat and sleep, but they don't shut the door anymore.  Sometimes it makes me uncomfortable when it’s closed.
