Fun, friendly, floofy and needs a home! Gordo is a 5-6 yr old German Shepherd who weighs approximately 75 pounds. He’s a very sweet boy who will be very excited to become part of your family. He is great with other dogs and children. He has a low-medium drive with lots of excitement for toys and flopping by your feet to have his belly rubbed.   He had a rough entry into real dog life. He was saved at the very last minute from over crowded shelter euthanasia. He has undergone heart worm treatment, battled kennel cough and gotten neutered. We can tell he didn’t have the best first years of his life and he was probably kept in a kennel most of the time. He hasn’t needed to be crated while with us, as he does wonderful being left out all day while we’re not at home and all night while we’re sleeping. He is a very toy driven boy and will play fetch all day, so his foster mom believes a six foot fence is required for this boy. He loves bones (toys don’t last long with him). He is smart enough to know what he can and can’t chew on. He loves hugs, cuddles, and laying on the floor vents to keep cool. He has been around smaller dogs and seems to shy away from them. His foster sister is definitely more dominant than he is and he is fine to play into that role. He loves being brushed and is such a handsome man. Gordo would love a family with children. His human brother and sister are 6 & 8 and he is very gentle and loving with them. Gordo is a velcro dog and since being fostered he has been with a family where both parents work from home. He is adaptable and would do ok being left alone all day but would prefer someone be home where he could get scratches anytime he wants.   Gordo is being fostered near Charlotte, NC.
