Hi! I’m Jack! I’m around 45lbs, approximately 11 months old and I’m looking for a partner(s) in crime. I don’t have much memory of earlier days,   just that I ended up on a thing called a “euth list”, and my foster mom said that she couldn’t stand for that to happen.   I was so scared when she picked me up that I was literally frozen to the ground. She took me home and introduced me to her pack of four.   My favorite is her two year old GSD because she loves to play with me.   Ideally I will go to a home with another confident dog or two.   They help build my confidence and I just love to play!   I’m a “monkey see; monkey do” kind of guy, and her other dogs have made everything much easier. I sit and lay down when they do, and I’m even trying to catch treats that are tossed to me. I’m a teenager, so my foster mom says that I need structure… whatever that means!   I’m almost house trained except for when I’m having too much fun and I forget to go, but we’re working on that. I guess that’s where the structure comes in.   I love my crate, and happily run to it when It’s time to eat.   It’s hard to believe but I’ve gained 14 pounds since I came into rescue in early June!   I’m working on my leash skills, but I get really nervous in new places. The car is still one of those scary things, but with the help of some really yummy treats, I’m working on that, too. I love teenagers and really everyone that I've met. I haven’t seen any cats since my shelter days when the staff tried to introduce me to one, and It was terrifying. Yes, there is a video… very embarrassing. I try really hard to be a good listener, and I so want to to do the right thing. My foster dad says that I’m a really good boy, and he’s kind of a hard sell.   I’m being fostered in Wilmington, NC.   If you would like to add me to your family, please reach out to your adoption coordinator.   If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org.
