Hello! My name is Sweetheart!   I’m a 70 lb, almost two year old rocket of love and fur!

I was found as a stray so we aren’t sure about my history.   I was pregnant (mama of the Sweets Litter) when found, but my babies have all gotten older and found homes of their own.   Now it’s my turn to find my happy ending! When I first came to my foster mom I was nervous, but warmed up quickly.   It was extra difficult because they had just treated me for heart worms, so I couldn’t play or get my energy out.   I’ve since been given the all clear, so now I’m making up for lost time.   When I don’t have the zoomies I love to lay on my foster mom. My sense of spatial awareness is lacking and as a result I’ve almost taken my foster mom out several times.. .she says it isn’t funny because I could hurt her but I still get a kick out of it.   I consider the Miley Cyrus song “Wrecking Ball” my anthem.   I could use some work on my manners, so it’s important that my adopter is someone who is willing to work with me.   I will sit for my dinner and on occasion lay down, but I still pull on the leash and jump.   I have previously lived with a four year old child and did really well with him.   I do not like cats, though.   The stray cats in my foster moms neighborhood tease me and I get upset. I am dog friendly, but I can sometimes be awkward with other dogs, so it’s important that I have slow introductions, without outside items like toys, bones, etc. being in the mix.   I can be a bit of a hoarder of the items I consider mine.   I am potty trained and crate trained (airline crate is best), but I don’t particularly enjoy the crate, so my foster mom leaves me out of it.   I am a very smart girl and have opened the refrigerator door and outside door before, so it’s a good idea to make sure everything is locked if you leave me out and about.   A fenced in yard is probably best for me considering my energy level and how much I love to play!   If you would like to be my human pillow and furever cuddle buddy, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org
