Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog. Nice to meet you, I’m Daisy! I’m a two-year-old, 60-pound, spunky little girl. When no one claimed us after my puppies and I found ourselves in the shelter, Freedom German Shepherd Rescue took us in and got us the care and nutrition we needed. My puppies have all found their furever homes so now I am ready to find mine. I am housebroken, crate trained and good with people and other dogs. My foster mom says I act the fool when I meet new people and other dogs because I pull really hard on leash to get to them and bark like crazy. For a little mighty mite, I give my foster mom a run for her money. Don’t tell her, but I secretly enjoy it. God love her, flailing her arms around all over the place, turning in circles, yelling, “DAISY, CALM DOWN! DAISY, CALM DOWN!”. It really is a sight – but I digress… She is working with me on my leash manners, though. Anywho, I love to play with other dogs and let me tell you: I. am. RELENTLESS! Have you heard the expression, “Never give up”? That’s me. I will skippity pap the heck out of another dog to play until he or my foster mom tells me to stop or I get tired. My current fur foster brother and I run and play and then we roll around on the floor or bed. I stop playing on a dime and then scream when he big boy barks me when he’s tired of playing with me. He doesn’t hurt me at all but I love to see my foster mom come running to make sure I’m okay. Don’t feel bad for her: she needs the exercise with all that huffing and puffing she does while she tries to catch her breath. Bless her heart. I don’t need to be in a home with another dog but if there is another dog, he or she would ideally love to play as much as I do and be able to correct me when I get to be too much. If there isn’t another dog in the home, I would like someone who will play fetch with me, run or take me for walks frequently. I would probably do best in a home with kids 12 and over because I like to chew on hands and jump on people when I get really excited. My foster mom is working with me on that, too. She doesn’t know where I learned it, but I like to high five people with my snout. (I have to admit, I look really cute doing it.) I haven’t been around any cats so I don’t know how I feel about them. I would also love to have a yard to play in. A fence is not required as long as my new family understands that I will need to get my energy out. My current digs have a six foot privacy fence. I have not tried to challenge it and my foster mom thinks I would be okay with a four foot tall fence. Please be warned: when I am outside by myself, I love to sing the song of my people – you know to let them know that I am there LOL My foster mom does not understand why I feel the need to do this when I am by myself because I don’t do that when I am outside with her or my fur foster brothers. She makes me seem like I am a little bit of a drama queen. Jiminy Christmas, I just gotta be me!! If you think you are ready to make a sassy little thing like me a permanent member of your family, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you do not have an adoption coordinator, please complete and adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org. I am being fostered near Fayetteville, NC. *Our volunteers process applications as quickly as they can, however it can take a little time. For this reason, the specific dog you apply for may not be available by the time your application is processed. If that happens we will do our best to find another perfect match for your family.*
