Belle is a 2.5 year old German Shepherd mix and weighs 77 pounds. Belle was adopted from Freedom two years ago as a puppy and has been returned due to a heartbreaking circumstance, through no fault of her own. (Her former adopter wrote her bio and is devastated that he needs to return her.)  She is a very friendly cuddle bug that loves to give and receive affection. She is a great companion for long walks and day hikes.  She can also join you for short runs and be your exercise buddy. She loves playing fetch and relaxing in the backyard as well as having play dates with other dogs and running until she can't any more. Belle is not just great, but also patient with kids. She will never let their snacks touch the ground :) Kids of all ages enjoy being around her. She lived with cats when she was a puppy but has not been recently tested with them. Belle is food motivated and can learn new commands quickly. She knows "sit", "down", "off", "no", "crawl" and "turn around". Her leash manners are okay and she stays by your side. She can't wait to meet other dogs when she's on walks but will stay by your side if you have treats handy. She is crate trained and housebroken. Her favorite spot is by the front door. She gives notification barks if a stranger is at the door, and will come running to you if it is a friend.
