Hi! My name is Denver! I am just over a year old and weigh around 52 pounds. Don’t let my petite size fool you though, because while I may be small, I am strong and mighty. I am working on my basic commands and so far I know “sit,” “no,” “down,” and “come.” My foster mom tells me that I am super smart but stubborn…but I am just being a typical young female. I like to go for walks because I love smelling all the new scents. I am still working on walking nicely and not pulling my foster mom along. I can’t help it, I just get so excited about the next new scent that I can’t wait to check it out and I forget I have a human walking with me. I am crate trained and because I’m a bit of a trash panda, I should definitely be crated when you aren’t home. I sleep and eat in my crate, too. However, if I feel that I have been made to stay in my crate in error, I will tell you all about how much I think I should be let back out. I will eventually calm down and take a nap, though. I love riding in a car with the windows down! In addition to my foster mom, I live with my three canine foster siblings. I LOVE to play with my foster siblings: we play from the time we wake up until the time we go to bed. Our favorite games are tag in the backyard and tug a war and keep away with toys in the house. Sometimes I will get too rambunctious with one of my foster brothers and he will quickly tell me to leave him alone.. and I do because I don’t want to upset him. If it involves playing and/or being outside, I am totally there for it! I love lounging in the yard and seeing all the things that go on during the day. I don’t really bark much on my own accord but if my foster siblings start barking then I must join in on the fun! I haven’t met a stranger yet. I love all the humans I have met and want to play with all the other dogs, regardless of their size. Due to my activity level and love for running and playing, I need to go to a home with another very active, playful dog. Due to me loving being outside as much as my foster mom will let me, I also should go to a home with a fenced in yard. I am still trying to decide how I feel about those creatures that my foster mom calls cats. I don’t mind them being around until they decide to run and then I must chase them. I have never been able to catch one so I am not sure what I would do if I did, but my foster mom feels it is best that we not find out. My foster mom tells me that I am a very sweet, fun, loving, energetic, and go with the flow kind of girl that is going to be a real gem for my forever family. I am being fostered near Goldsboro, NC. If you think you can offer me my furever home, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org.
