Hi everyone! My name is Benji! I’m a beautiful, two year old, 75lb shepherd boy. I’m a super sweet, dog and cat friendly, mostly well mannered boy. I’m really smart and have learned a bunch of commands - sit, stay, down, paw, place and wait - but haven’t quite mastered “leave it,” yet. My foster mom is working on it with me, though, especially when I do this fun thing called counter surfing. When I’m not stealing the goodies off the counter I’m a total gentlemen. I don’t even bark when the doorbell rings or strangers walk by. I am housebroken and will use the crate to take a nap, but I don’t particularly enjoy it if I have to go in there when you leave. A kong with frozen peanut butter or yogurt helps, though. I really enjoy going on adventures. We’ve taken a lot of walks/hikes and we’ve even been to dog friendly restaurants and stores. Anywhere you go, I like to go, too. My foster mom says I’m her little shadow. My ideal home will be one with other dogs. I have quite a lot of energy and really, really love to play with my doggy pals. They help me come out of my shell around new people, too. I can be quite shy with new people and prefer that they let me approach them first. I have only met young children out in public, but I did well with them. I am being fostered near Raleigh, NC.
