German Shepherd Dog (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Large
Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog. Hi! I’m Oliver and I’m a gorgeous three year old, 65 pound shepherd boy. I was found roaming the countryside and ended up at the shelter, but no one ever came by to claim me. Once I got into the rescue, everyone realized that I am housebroken and crate trained. I can even be trusted to free roam when no one is home! I’m also a big cuddle bug with my people! I do well meeting dogs on neutral ground, but put on a big show when I am out walking with my person and another dog comes by. With some consistency and training I’ll learn that barking at new doggy friends is not the proper way to greet them. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I don’t know what I think about them. I like meeting people, too, but sometimes I get so excited that I get mouthy, which can scare some people away. I love the attention so much, that I don’t want people to stop petting me so I gently nudge and chew on their hands. When people jump away from me, because they don’t understand that I am asking for more attention, I get barky. I am an energetic boy that would love a yard to play in and someone who will help me get exercise. I will need an experienced German Shepherd owner that will work with me to get the training I need to be the best version of myself. I am being fostered in Fayetteville, NC. If you think you can offer me my furever home, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org.
