Hi friends! My name is Dax "Shepherd" and, like my namesake, I am an entertainer! I am a handsome, if I do say so myself, 1 year old 50ish lb boy. My foster mama is pretty sure I am mostly dutch shepherd. She says that makes me super cute and also a little cray cray. I looove all of the people and big doggie friends who I meet! It would be awesome if my new home had another energetic, playful pup to be my new sibling! If I don't have any playful siblings, I will need extra play time and good exercise. I can get into a *little* bit of trouble if I get bored. Wait, what? I would not do very well in a home with smaller children or smaller pets, including cats. I don't like those chunky squirrel things very much! Or do I like them a little too much? ‍♂️ I really don't mean any harm to anybody, but I just still have a lot of puppy in me and can be very jumpy and mouthy (and loud!) When I was surrendered, my foster mama said it was pretty clear that I wasn't taught my manners. It is something that I am really working on and getting better at everyday! I am crate trained, although I tend to squeal at you if you lock me in there while you are still in the room. Once everyone is gone, or if it is bedtime, I happily take a snooze in there! I still have the occasional pee pee accident from not being properly trained. I do really, really love those good boy treats, though, and have been doing amazing with consistency and yummy rewards.
