Hi, I’m Whiskey! I’m approximately 8 years young and about 75 lbs. I was picked up as a stray so my foster family doesn’t know much about my past. My foster mom says I’m the sweetest boy and that my future looks great! I am housebroken and use the doggie door to go potty outside. I haven’t had an accident in the house in a long time. I’m still learning to be a dog, so I need a patient family who will help me learn. I’m working on “sit, stay, come, wait and up”. I don’t like the word “no,” but I understand it. I will go into a crate, but I don’t particularly enjoy it. I can be trusted to be in the house when left alone, though, I just sleep by the door until you get home. I walk well on a leash and I take treats very gently. Boy do I love treats! I didn’t have food for a long time so I love breakfast and dinner and I get excited when I see you fixing my bowl. My foster mom says I’m the total definition of Velcro. I want to be by your side and will follow you when you leave the room. Overall, I’m the best boy and would love a family to call my own! More notes from my foster mom: Whiskey has been through an amazing and wonderful transformation. He loves to be with his human and will follow you around the house. He has been taken to the lake and on trails, but does lack some confidence and will need assurance that he isn’t going to be left behind. He loves to go on adventures and is a total sweetheart out in public. He is non-reactive to other dogs with proper introduction and will lay down by your side and be content. Whiskey has two foster siblings, a male and a female and he gets along well with both of them. He would love a sibling to play with, but he can also entertain himself with a bone or ball. He loves to play with a big ball in the yard and talks to it as he is playing. He doesn’t get on the couch, he prefers to lay at your feet. He sleeps through the night and likes to lay beside the bed. Whiskey does get a bit mouthy and likes to use his muzzle and mouth to guide you where he wants to be rubbed so he would do best with older children only. He really likes his toys, so sometimes he gives a little attitude when he has them. We’re working on that. He is still learning and needs a patient family who will continue to work with him.
