My name may be Penny, but I am worth so much more! I am a 5 year old, 60 pound girl that ended up in the shelter because my family didn’t want me any longer. I’m not too upset they dumped me, though, because now I get to live indoors all the time, eat regular meals and sleep on a warm bed in my very own room. When I first arrived at my foster mom’s house, I was dirty, underweight and riddled with parasites and my tail was covered with open wounds. As you can see, I have a stubby tail. My foster mom doesn’t even want to think about how that happened. Thanks to Freedom German Shepherd Rescue, I am clean, have reached a healthy weight and my wounds have healed. I am a lower energy girl that is content on going for walks and laying next to you. I can tolerate other dogs, but don't need another dog to be happy. I haven’t met any cats so I don’t know how I feel about them. I love people of all ages but I would do best in a quiet home with older or no kids because loud noises cause me to chase my tail or run and hide in my crate. Everyone who meets me thinks I am the sweetest girl! I am crate trained and will run to the door or bark to tell you that I need to go outside to potty. Oh, I almost forgot: I always carry a ball with me wherever I go – it’s my security blanket.
