Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog. Hello everyone, my name is Reese. I am a 1 1/2 year old beautiful, lean shepherd gal. I also happen to be super duper sweet if I do say so myself! When I first came to my foster home, I was a little anxious. Who wouldn’t be moving from the only place you've known to a brand new home? I adjusted very quickly to my new fur siblings, though! I love running around the big backyard and play fighting with them. Sometimes, we play rough and foster mama has to make us settle down. I, also, love a good game of fetch with any ol' ball. Ball is life! I am pretty neutral to those chunky squirrel looking things. Oops, I think I'm supposed to call them cats. I like to whimper at them when they come around, but I just let them do their thing. Unless they are really feisty, it's ok with me if you have feline friends in your home. Even better if they are already dog savvy! I, also, really love my human kids! I am a tall girl, though, and sometimes I forget that I am not supposed to jump on people. My foster mama says we are working on it, but I just get so excited to hug and kiss my humans! I was around a teeny tiny baby this weekend and didn't even flinch when she cried. I tend to forget my size, however, and will push my body weight around to get cozy by you. I am still working on a few basic manners, but I am a people pleaser and just want to make you happy. Foster mama says I would make an excellent dog for almost any family. I may just need a little extra patience, especially in the beginning. I have not been exposed to too much of the outside world, because I mostly just want to be with my people and fur siblings. I prefer cuddling with you or cozying up in my bed/crate. I can become a little anxious when I have to go to new places. I am not really a fan of the car right now. I tend to get car sick if I have been in there for a while. I have already gotten better with it in just a couple of weeks, though! On the inside, I think I'm afraid that my next family will leave me in a strange new place. Everyday I am learning to trust my foster parents more and more will be so relaxed and happy with a loving forever home. I am crate trained and mostly potty trained, though I do have the occasional accident when I get nervous. I would do best with a family who has a little extra time and patience for me. I am energetic and love to run and play. I am, also, always down for an awesome nap and snuggle fest. I am truly the best of both worlds! If you think you can offer me my furever home, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org I am being fostered near Raleigh, NC. *Our volunteers process applications as quickly as they can, however it can take a little time. For this reason, the specific dog you apply for may not be available by the time your application is processed. If that happens we will do our best to find another perfect match for your family.*
