Hello there! My name is Anakin and I'm really excited that I get to tell you a bit about myself! I am a handsome three month old, 25 lb male shepherd mix, that’s full of fluff and puppy energy. I'm currently living with my foster parents and two dog siblings but can't wait to find my furever home. To make that happen, they are teaching me all sorts of cool things. I have already learned to sit and stay especially when it comes to food, toys and treats. Speaking of all the great things, I looove toys and chewing on them. I'd love to do that all day long but sometimes I just get tired and sleep for a little while before the action starts over again. My peeps also prefer me to chew on designated toys rather than their hands, toes or even my dad's beard, but in case I don't understand it right away, they are patient with me and tell me to leave it and I promise I will let go eventually. Every now and then I get the zoomies and sprint through the house and backyard but as fast as they come they stop again and I settle down wherever I am. I don't necessarily need a dog bed or something soft and squishy to feel comfortable - the floor usually does the trick for me. Because of that I love to follow my hoomans around the house. I have already been appointed sous chef in the kitchen, workout buddy in the garage gym and Assistant Manager in my parents' home office. Pretty cool, huh?! They are also teaching me to stay in my crate or octagon throughout the day. Normally it works pretty well after the occasional whining and barking in the beginning. I still do better when I have toys with me or, even better, a Kong with peanut butter because it distracts me from them leaving. I can be in there for 1 - 3 hours at a time and hold my pee like a big boy. I can hold it even longer during the night and there I don't mind being in the crate at all because my pack and I sleep in the same room. I have also met some other dogs beside my foster siblings and people and have noticed that I am more shy towards hoomans than dogs but I will get used to them after a couple of minutes of sweet talk. I tend to be curious when it comes to new things and noises and will hide behind you if I'm not too sure about it just yet. With that said, the more confident I get, the bolder I get. When I hear other dogs bark I will join in with my little big dog bark so I can tell that I am going to be a great guard dog and will let you know when someone or something approaches my home. I have not tried leash walking outside of my backyard yet because I'm still missing some of my vaccines, but I can already tell that I like it especially biting into my leash and walking myself. I also haven't met any children or cats yet so I can't tell you how I would do with them but I think I could befriend anyone being the sweet teddy bear that I am. Overall I would love an active furever pack with a big yard for my zoomies and loooooots of toys to chew on. Being close to my people is very important to me and I also love being challenged and taught new things so I would appreciate it if my new family could keep my brain engaged. Oh and please also have in mind that everybody keeps telling me that I am going to be a biiiiig dog so be prepared for even more fluff and love when I'm fully grown!
