Hello there, my name is Ralphie! I am about 4 months old and am hoping to find a new pack to call home! I am a high energy boy, and though small for my age, have all the personality of a big German shepherd dog! I am a typical puppy in that my energy levels go from 0 to 100 and then 100 back to 0 throughout the day. My brother and I love to sprint around the house chasing, barking, and chewing on each other. When we start to wrestle, things can get pretty intense! When it comes to playing with my brother, I am usually the big man in charge (even though I am much smaller than he is!) I am mouthy when I play, but my brother Balto doesn’t mind! When I try to chew on my bigger foster brother, he tells me to cut it out.. and I respect that and will switch to licks in the face! I am a fiercely loyal companion. I am constantly “all ears” (no pun intended) and waiting to hear what my people need from me. I train very quickly and am very eager to please. I know how to come when called, how to sit, and how to go in the crate when asked. I almost always will respond the first time I am asked too! (I can’t say the same for my brother) At night I’ll sleep 8 hours straight in my crate! I am doing very well with house training and will usually let you know when I need to go out. Otherwise I’ll just wait until you take me out, so as long as you don’t wait to long I will hold it! I lovvve toys and chewing. Once in a while I try to chew things that aren’t toys… but how’s a pup supposed to know?! If you replace whatever I’ve found with an acceptable chew thing – I will gladly make the swap. I will need close supervision until I’ve mastered the art of telling toys apart from phone chargers. As long as you keep an eye on me, I will be good because I respond to “no” so well! Other skills of mine include being a mighty little guard dog! I have the cutest big boy bark and will be happy to let you know when there is someone in the driveway! When people come over, though nervous at first, I quickly warm up with sweet talk and treats! Because I bond so fiercely with my people and my fur siblings, I am not too sure how I feel about other dogs coming to my house.. I just don’t know what their intentions are! However, when I met some dog friends out on a walk, I was happy to make acquaintances. My foster parents tell me they are going to have some more dogs come to the house to see how I engage with different age/size/energy levels in my yard. Overall, if you want a dog to go to the dog park and play with lots of new friends – that probably will not be me. But, If you want to go out on hikes and walks and pass by other dogs– I’m all in! If you have a more submissive dog in your home already, I would likely love them after a proper introduction.!? I do trust my people so much, I think if they continue to introduce me to new friends and tell me how they expect me to behave, I am certain I will be the best boy! I am so extremely intelligent and eager to please, my new parents will likely be able to train me to do anything! My adoption contract will require me to be neutered and have professional training.
