My name is Dutch and I’m a 75 lb, two year old Dutch/German Shepherd boy. I really enjoy hanging out with other large, energetic dogs, but I’m not a fan of the kitties, so a home with cats wouldn’t be a good fit. I haven’t ever played before, but I’m starting to learn how much fun it is! I’m friendly with people, but because of my size and energy level, it’s best I go to a home with older children only. My foster family doesn’t know my back story, but they think I might have been an outside dog because I didn’t come to them fully housebroken. I’m doing much better with it, but I’ll need an adopter that will take me outside often and continue my training. I have a lot of energy, so if you’re looking for a hiking or jogging buddy, I’m your guy! I also really like to learn. My foster family has been diligently working with me and I’ve just about mastered all of the key commands! We’re still working on how mouthy I am, though. My foster mom thinks it’s because I wasn’t ever corrected or taught boundaries when I was a puppy. I’m mostly crate trained, but I can be pretty vocal for a bit before settling down. It’s just my way of telling you to come back and that I miss you!! I love peanut butter filled Kongs, though, so if you give me one of those I’ll be a very happy boy! Overall I’m a sweet, goofy boy who just wants a family that will show me love and is willing to continue my training.
