Meet Bucky!!  This 11 month old, stunning boy is now ready for adoption!  He's what we call a pocket shepherd because although he's short in stature, he is 42 pounds of pure love.  If you enjoy the look of a shepherd, but aren't a fan of a typical shepherd's size, then Bucky may be the pup for you.  Bucky is almost 100% housebroken and will either go out the doggie door or whine to go out when the doggie door is shut.  He is crate trained and sleeps in it through the night with no accidents.  He is a wonderful boy and loves to play ball and will actually bring it back to you.  His current favorite is a red one with a handle that is indestructible and he carries it all over the place.  Bucky thinks all toys belong in the middle of the floor so he took it upon himself to redecorate his foster family's family room.  Additionally, he thinks all of the seashells in the pots outside belong inside in his bed.  Bucky plays with his fur sister Bobbielee all the time and is constantly pulling on her ears.  She enjoys the attention but when he nips too hard she lets him know and he backs off - for a little while.  He even got her to chase after him out in the yard!  He gets along fine with the cat in his foster home and leaves him alone for the most part.  Joe the cat is dog savvy so he prefers to avoid Bucky.  Bucky cannot, however, resist chasing Joe when he runs.  It's a game until Joe has had enough and  turns on him and spits.  I mean what can you do about a cat streaking across the yard?!  He has to be chased lol.  Bucky is good on or off the leash.  His leash is rarely use at home as he stays where his foster parents or his fur siblings are.  He is walked on leash, however, away from home.  He also loves the pond and heads for it when his foster family is in the backyard.  He will be a great family dog and his foster family hopes that his forever family will take him everywhere.  He rides well, stays by your side and wants to be involved in everything. If you are interested in offering Bucky his forever home, please reach out to your adoption coordinator.  If you do not have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org.  Bucky is being fostered near Wilmington.
