~~Hello! My Name is Blue! (I also get called Blueberry sometimes). I didn’t have the best start to life so finally getting to experience life and love has been a new adventure for me. I’m not as big as some female dogs my age and I think that’s probably because I wasn’t treated very well while I was growing up. The vet thinks I’m about 3 or 4 years old. Some things to know about me: My foster mom allows me to eat whenever I want, but I usually eat when my foster brothers do. I was really shy at first so she spoiled me and fed me from her hand. I didn’t mind her touching my food bowl or being around me while I ate. My foster brothers sometimes like to sniff my bowl while I eat and I didn’t mind them either. Every now and then it kind of bothers me, so I softly let them know. I eat in my crate because that is where I’m comfortable. I’m very food motivated when it comes to learning. I know to sit down and look when yummy treats are involved. I didn’t know what to think of my crate at first. My foster mom thinks I spent a lot of time in one because I get really sad when I have to go in it. After awhile I started to understand that when they leave I have to go in it- I get super excited when they come home though. My foster mom asks me to calm down and sit sometimes when she gets home because I’m just so excited I can’t handle it. One time when I realized the bottom latch was missing I snuck out and found so many new toys!! My foster mom had this really yummy plant that I found. So now I’m not really allowed out of my crate when no one is home because I think she liked that plant. I do really well in my crate though. I feel really comfortable in it now. One of my favorite times of the day is going outside with my foster brothers to play and go to the bathroom! I accidentally used the bathroom a couple times in the house when I first got here because I wasn’t feeling very well. But I know that outside is where I am supposed to go. Sometimes I forget but I’m trying really hard to remember. Usually when I mess up on something, after getting told “No” once, I try not to do it again and I’m usually good at that. I walk really well on a leash but I can’t figure out how to walk straight. I just have so many things going through my head I kind of run into my foster mom sometimes. I do that when she’s walking in the house too. I run into her legs a lot. She doesn’t mind. I love playing with my foster brothers, they look just like me. I don’t like playing very rough but I do like to play. This human 1 year old that lives down the street comes to play with me sometimes. I really like playing with him, I do really well with him! I kind of just lay there and let him play with me, I don’t mind. I do really well with children. They like to pet me and kiss my head and I just let them. Speaking of laying there, I do love to sleep! My foster mom and dad let me sleep on the bed with my brothers on top of the dog blanket and I love it! I’m so comfy. I do really well around small dogs, cats, and even ducks! I was never taught commands so getting told to do things is kind of hard. Please be patient with me and know that I don’t know a whole lot, but I’m sorry if I make you mad. I get really scared when I know that you’re mad at me. I love getting treats when I do what I’m told though! Sit down, look, stay, and no, are some words that I almost understand all the way! I'm really enjoying this being taken care of and loved thing! I can’t wait to find a forever home one day. I enjoy being told that I’m really sweet. I hope my new family will think that too. New home, if you’re out there, i can’t wait to meet you! If you are interested in adopting me, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you do not have an adoption coordinator, please fill out an adoption application at https://freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org I am being fostered near Fayetteville.
