Meet your new best friend! Keeper is looking for a family to call his very own, and he has plenty of love and devotion to give them!
This beautiful four year old pup has already been through basic training. He walks nicely on a leash, and does very well with sit, down, shake, go lay down, (when food is present) and stay. He is even learning to stay when his toys are thrown for him, until he is told "okay." Fetch is by FAR his favorite game though, so he is still working on that a bit. He will need a fenced yard to explore (and chase rabbits and squirrels) but a four foot fence will do. He isn't a jumper.
Keeper is the poster child for a "velcro dog" and absolutely has to be near his people, so be prepared to have a constant companion. He is also house broken and crate trained, and will crate himself when asked. This stunning dog attaches to people fully, and as a result, he hasn't been the biggest fan of other dogs so far. We have our hopes that he will overcome this, but would recommend that he go to a family where he will be the only dog. He doesn't like to share his attention.
He meets new people easily, and gets along with nearly everyone, but he seems to not quite understand that he needs to be careful around the smaller ones, so we would also recommend that he go to a home with children no younger than 10. Overall, Keeper will be a difficult friend for his foster family to let go, but we know he will make a new family very happy.
