Hi, there!  I'm Hawk and I'm a 2 year old, 60 pound ball of love that's still looking for a forever home.  Because of my beautiful red color, my foster mom named me after the Air Force's new T7 aircraft, the Red Hawk, in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen.  I’m not good at history but I do know that they played a vital part in World War II.  I'm also a lover, not a fighter.  I LOVE everyone I meet, even cats.  I bond quickly with my person and do great with other dogs.  I am sweet with children and my favorite place to be is cuddling by your side.  I am housebroken and crate trained, although I am not destructive when left out of my crate.  My secret is that I do not share you well because I want you and all of your affection to myself.  I don’t know why my former person dumped me at the shelter but I can tell you that I can’t wait to have another person of my own to love.  Once I feel like you’re mine, I don’t want anyone or anything to come between us. Don’t get me wrong, I will welcome anyone into your home but if another dog comes near you, I will let him or her know that you belong to me.  For this reason, I will need to be adopted by someone who will work with me to help me become the best version of myself.  If you can help make my dream come true by offering me my forever home, please reach out to your adoption coordinator.  If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, then please complete an adoption application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org.  In the mean time, I’ll be dreaming a little dream of you.  I am being fostered near Fayetteville.
