Hi there!  My name is Doodle!  Yes, I have a brother named Yankee and a sister named Dandy.... and now you have that song in your head. Go ahead. Sing away. I'll wait. Ok, now that you have that out of your system let me tell you a bit about me.
I am approximately six months old and have tons of puppy energy. I live with three fur foster siblings and like playing with my fur foster sister...well, one of them. The older one thinks I'm annoying and my fur foster brother doesn't take kindly to my puppy shenanigans, but they are cool with me.  Any who.... I guess I'm trying to say that I  get along just fine with other dogs once I get to know them. I have not met any cats or kids yet, so not sure how that would go. I love, love, love  to play fetch with the ball! I'm still trying to figure out why my foster mom keeps throwing it after I go through all the trouble of chasing it and bringing it back to her. Humans, such silly creatures!
I'm currently learning how to walk on a leash and getting better each time we practice . My foster mom doesn't think that  it's funny when I take the leash in my mouth and try to walk myself.  Apparently that is frowned upon in this establishment - sheesh! I'm getting really good at the whole "sit" thing too! Now, as for the command "stay"...well, let me refer you to my earlier disclaimer about having a ton of energy. My foster mom says that I'm a smart little girl, so it won't be long before I get that command down pat. Oh yeah, I'm a rock star in my crate! I actually prefer to be in my crate when I'm nervous about something or just need my space. It is so cozy in there with all my toys. As for being house trained, I'm about 90% there. I have had a couple of whoopsies but I'm getting better with that too! My foster mom is pretty sure that I have never lived in house before, so all in all I'm doing pretty good with my house manners.
My foster mom says I'm a little too big for my britches (whatever that means) and have tried to protect my toys and the water bowl from my fur siblings. I have been counseled a time or two by my fur foster brother for these "egregious acts" - his words, not mine.  He is sooo dramatic. Needless to say, I no longer fuss about sharing the water bowl and even let my fur foster sister take one of my toys.  Sharing is so hard when you are a puppy!  I also need to let you know that it takes me a little while to warm up to new people.  Therefore, I will need an adopter, and possibly even a confident fur sibling, who can continue to help me become my best self.
My foster family is pretty cool and I like hanging out here and all but I would really love to find my furever home! Do you think I would fit in with your pack?  If so, and you live in NC, please complete an adoption application.  I am being fostered in Fayetteville, NC.
